The Role
We’re currently looking for a Pharmacist (Grade 1) who is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective and efficient dispensing of medications, along with the provision of quality pharmacy services and advice to the patients and staff of JHFMHN.
The Pharmacist (Grade 1) will: * Provide medication dispensing services to patients in custody as appropriate.

  • Liaise with and support other health professionals concerning all aspects of medication supply and administration.
  • Take day to day responsibility for a key pharmacy function as directed by the Chief Pharmacist.
  • Participate in or organise methods to gather data for medication related issues (including drug evaluations and drug usage reviews).
  • Report clinical interventions and adverse drug reactions and maintain up-to-date evidence based clinical skills.
  • Conduct site visits, when required, and participate in health promotion and targeted education events at JHFMHN health centres and wards.
  • Ensure compliance with JHFMHN Medication Guidelines other medication management policies and guidelines.
  • Supervise and ensure compliance with the legislation and guidelines regulating the profession of Pharmacy and the control, storage, preparation, distribution, prescribing and administration of medications in JHFMHN.
  • Participate in the on-call roster.

  • Demonstrated clinical pharmacy knowledge including knowledge of patient medication review process.

  • Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of continuing education and professional development.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence and ability to travel for work purposes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislations and policies and their application to the practice of clinical pharmacy.
