The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Pharmacy Assistant - Senior to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide a defined range of pharmacy services for patients under the delegation of a pharmacist
- Deliver support, mentoring, education, training and supervision to Pharmacy Assistants
- Prepare, distribute and dispense pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a Pharmacist
- Liaise with health care providers within the immediate team as well as community health providers such as community pharmacists and general practitioners
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support (HLT47115) or equivalent
- Certificate of competency in ‘Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest Stock' module (HLTPA001)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $73 861 - $78 977 per annum
About Us
The Pharmacy Service provides medication management services across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, 7 days a week. Our team of approximately 80 pharmacists are assisted in their roles by over 40 support persons comprising Pharmacy Assistants, administration officers, purchasing and stores personnel. The dispensary at each of the two hospital campuses is also equipped with automated dispensing robots to facilitate dispensing, distribution and inventory management activities. Based in Tugun, Southport and Robina.
