Senior Pharmacy Assistant

About the Role:

As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, you will contribute to patient care by supporting Pharmacists in the delivery of an efficient and effective medicines management service to the facilities within Metro South Health through Logan – Beaudesert Hospitals Pharmacy Services, in accordance with current legislation and Australian pharmacy and medicines professional standards and guidelines. This includes:

• Preparing, dispensing and supplying medicines from a prescription under the supervision of a Pharmacist for checking and authorisation by a Pharmacist.
• Assisting Pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing and distribution of controlled drugs, including maintenance of records and legislated stock counts.
• Assisting in inventory management including maintain and review stock levels of scheduled and unscheduled medicines and consumables, receiving, storage, distribution, stocktake of medicines, stock rotation and expiry date monitoring.
• Refering to and liaising with health care providers within the immediate team within a defined range of tasks.
