The successful candidate provides high level clinical input and high level clinical care decision making in rehabilitation physiotherapy services at Bulli Hospital. They will provide leadership of the rehabilitation physiotherapy team at Bulli Hospital. The Clinical Lead and Team Leader will be expected to participate in shared site based leadership, including managerial support, and relieving as Acting Physiotherapy Unit Head, Bulli and Coledale Hospitals, as required.

An exciting opportunity exists for aPhysiotherapist Level 4 - Clinical Lead Rehabilitation & Team Leader to join Bulli Hospital 

Where you’ll be working

Bulli Hospital is a 120 bed facility offering sub-acute Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care services across four wards. Bulli works closely with the Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Specialist team across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District to ensure a safe and timely transfer of patients who have completed an acute episode of care and require ongoing care and management. Bulli Hospital also provides outpatient Geriatric Services and a day rehabilitation program.  The outpatient services are supported by senior medical specialists, specialist nursing staff and Allied Health. The outpatient unit houses therapy and assessment areas for patient appointments. In addition, Bulli Hospital provides treatment for minor injury and illness, similar to a GP, via the Urgent Care Centre. This model of care enables patients to be seen and assessed by specialist nurse practitioners or medical officers to deliver treatment and management plans.

What you'll be doing

Provide a high quality specialist physiotherapy service to client groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced reasoning and practice skills and operate autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision.

Plan, coordinate and implement high levels of clinical expertise and specialised knowledge in their specialty to patients and carers of ISLHD in accordance with NSW Health, ISLHD and physiotherapy policies and procedures and standards.

Provide clinical supervision and support of Level 1 and 2 health professionals, technical and support staff, students and other staff as appropriate.

Participate and assist with the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on clinical services.

Provide a consultative role within their area of expertise. May conduct clinical research. Participate in the provision of clinical in-service education programmes to staff and students.

May have an operational/supervisory role under the direction of the ISLHD Physiotherapy Head of Discipline or delegate and may be required to manage specific tasks or projects.

May be required to work across other sites within the District.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Current Physiotherapy Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Extensive post graduate clinical experience in the clinical specialty area or high level of broad generalist knowledge.
  3. Demonstrated high levels of oral and written communication skills including the proficient use of health based technology.
  4. Demonstrated commitment and evidence of implementation of ISLHD core values.
  5. Knowledge and proven ability to undertake quality improvement and service evaluation processes.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Demonstrated ability to provide senior level of supervision to staff and or students.
  8. Current NSW drivers licence or equivalent.
