The Role:
The Planning Analyst plays a crucial role in the organization by creating and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to facilitate better planning decisions and enhance business outcomes. Responsibilities include data gathering, analysis, suggesting actionable insights, data modelling, designing planning tools, testing, rollout planning, and assessing implementation success. Additionally, the Analyst collaborates with schedulers to improve schedule accuracy through data-driven insights and manages exception-based daily planning control procedures. This role requires strong numerical intelligence, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to offer innovative perspectives to enrich provided briefs. Reporting to the Planning Manager, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Undertake analysis and planning development work (analysis, design, tool/model development, understanding and matching team requirements, implementing, support and maintaining) related to existing and new process and systems or tools.
- Create and maintain long range forecasting tool for planning decisions.
- Use qualitative and quantitative inputs to profile the short-term demand forecast to a granular (daily) level by SKU.
- Monitor short-term granular forecast accuracy and co-ordinate with scheduler to provide recommendations for schedule changes, safety stock and inventory.
- Ensure planning master data is reviewed regularly and updated.
- Perform other tasks as required, including cover across the planning team when required.
About you:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a planning environment/role.
- Hands on experience with modelling, forecasting and analysis tools.
- Experience in either food manufacturing, FMCG, or Agricultural sectors.
- Highly proficient in all Microsoft packages, particularly excel.
- Ability to build strong, constructive relationships across a number of cross functional stakeholders.
- Strong problem solving.
- Highly analytical.
- Strong verbal & written communication.
