Job description

The Opportunity:

Port of Newcastle is seeking a Planning &Compliance Advisor to join our Property, Environment and Planning team. This new and highly visible role is responsible for leading PON’s planning and environmental compliance obligations. The role will form part of a highly capable yet small, close knit team and work in a well supported environment to deliver a set of diverse and rewarding objectives. In addition, the role will lead and support strategic programs on behalf of the Senior Manager Property, Environment & Planning, and be the key point of contact for PON's partners and Government and Port User stakeholders.

What you will bring:

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor of Laws (specialisation in Planning & Environmental Law is advantageous) as well as experience working with contaminated land, advising on NSW Planning systems, managing consultants and projects, and dealing with regulatory agencies. You will have the ability to develop policies, procedures and management systems, and be able to communicate information in an effective and constructive manner. Knowledge of port operations and port development would be highly beneficial.
