We have one of the busiest Land & Environment practices in NSW and a significant track record of achieving our clients’ outcomes through both contested hearings and conciliation processes.
Your place in our team
You will work directly with the firm’s partners – Dr Lindsay Taylor, Megan Hawley, Stuart Simington & Sue Puckeridge – and be assisted by talented junior lawyers and a fully resourced team of business support staff.
With a particular focus on Land & Environment Court Litigation (including Classes 1, 4 & 5) you will have the opportunity to display and further develop your advocacy skills, including personal appearances in contested Class 1 hearings.
You have the opportunity to work across a range of diverse matters for significant public and private sector clients in relation to.
merit appeals (Class 1) – including s34s and hearings
judicial review and civil enforcement (Class 4)
criminal prosecutions in the Land & Environment Court (Class 5), including in relation to pollution, vegetation clearing, unlawful development and other environmental matters
significant Local Court Prosecutions in relation to environmental crime and public health matters
a range of Supreme Court matters (representing public authorities)
Your background
You possess:
the ability and desire to work collaboratively in a dynamic, co-operative and harmonious team
solid experience having carriage of litigation in the LEC or Supreme Court
a desire to regularly engage in high level advocacy, including contested hearings
ability to work under minimal supervision but with direction and guidance of experienced partners
Your return
