The Blyton Group is a Hospitality and Leisure Group that own and operate snow resorts, radio stations, an airport, amusement park and cinema.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation with a strong development pipeline in the NSW Snowy Mountains.
As the Planning & Environment Manager you will work closely with Blyton Group Management to deliver our long-term development & Environmental goals, with a key focus on the businesses located within the Kosciuszko National Park, namely Charlotte Pass & Selwyn Snow Resorts.
The role is responsible for:
- Managing the planning approval process across all development applications for the Group.
- Assisting Blyton Group Management with the scope and program of work for all planning and environmental projects.
- Technical review of environment & planning assessment documentation.
- Managing relationships with governmental departments such as NSW Department of Planning, National Parks & Wildlife Services, Environmental Protection Agency, NSW Health and more.
- Engaging with external stakeholders, including communities, consultants and government entities as required.
- Duties include client interface, project scoping, strategic planning, planning proposals, Development Applications, briefing and managing sub-consultants.
- Management and oversight of the Environmental Management Systems at Charlotte Pass and Selwyn Snow Resort.
The position reports to the Chief Operating Offer. You will also collaborate closely with General Managers throughout the group.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in town planning and/or environmental planning/science/management related discipline.
- Good understanding and demonstrated experience in the execution of Development Applications
- Strong understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
- Experience in the management of contracted environmental specialist services
- High level of written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to self-managed, work under pressure and work in a team environment
- Experience with planning in the Kosciuszko National Park a benefit, but not essential
