This company is a thriving brand known for their commitment to delivering quality products to their target market. As they continue their success, they are seeking a dynamic and talented Planning Manager to lead the planning strategies and become an integral part of their organisation.
As part of the Planning team you will be the driving force behind the merchandise planning function, combined with the leadership ability to bring people along with you.
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following ;
- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise plans aligned with the business objectives, target market, and brand vision.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including buying, marketing, and operations, to ensure cohesive and effective planning strategies.
- Strategic thinking and proven ability to deliver & implement business objectives to achieve budgeted KPI"s.
- Performance analysis against Budget, Replan and LFL growth targets
- Identify opportunities and risks, engage cross functionally and make recommendations
- Run trade meetings & drive trade results on a weekly basis
- Develop department & category financial strategy for next season working with the Buying team ensuring alignment to the Brand strategy
- Provide direction to the Buying Team on the strategic goals & objectives of the business in relation to budgets, KPI’s, Stockturns, GMROI, OTB‘s.
- The desire to work strategically on the future direction of the business, whilst also being open and capable of pitching in when need be.
- The ability to challenge and improve systems and processes in a dynamic retail environment
- Strategically plan both permanent and promotional markdowns to achieve GP targets; monitor and report actual against targets
- Engage with the wider team, create visibility of Planning outputs, strategically influence, constructively challenge to ensure delivery of key metrics
- Support and develop direct reports, providing clear direction, constructive feedback and learning opportunities
Skills and experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a retail planning role - Apparel experience will be viewed favourably
- In depth knowledge of Retail and Supply Chain environments
- Experience with planning software or MSSI’s essential
- Ability to communicate and influence at all levels in the business; proven teamwork and collaboration skills
- High organisational and time management skills, with the proven ability to meet deadlines and self-manage
- Strategic thinking, commercial acumen, trading ability and a sense of ownership
- Demonstrate a proven ability to affect and manage change for the benefit of the business
