We are currently seeking a Planning Specialist – Mobile Maintenance to join our team. This is a three-year fixed term full-time position at our Simberi Operation. Working a 21/14 FIFO Roster from any Australian capital city.
Reporting to the Superintendent Planning and Reliability, you will provide leadership, direction, performance feedback and technical support to the Mobile Maintenance planning and execution disciplines to safely achieve high fleet availability asset utilisation.
The opportunity
- Developing, training and coaching of the planning and reliability personnel in the planning and reliability functions.
- Ensuring statutory requirements are met in relation to classified plant registers, inspections, records and strategies are aligned and are up to date.
- Leading the effective scheduling and planning of maintenance activities.
- Work within the site training policy to mentor, coach and develop the Simberi local employees and maintenance personnel.
- Coordination of project engineering activities and RCM improvements.
- Overseeing investigations of equipment failures using root cause analysis methodologies and providing reports and feedback to the business.
- Assist in supporting the maintenance strategy for the Mobile Maintenance department.
- Manage expenditure within budget levels and reforecast as required to achieve annual reliability plan.
- Understand maintenance cost drivers and seek sustainable improvements in unit maintenance cost performance.
- Assist in conducting cost analysis using Pronto data as a justification to support technical solutions recommended.

We would love to hear from you if you have :
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in fleet management including the implementation of planning processes and maintenance strategies.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in the mining industry.
- Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Extensive experience with CMMS system from planning to execution and master data. Previous Pronto experience would be desirable.
- Reliability engineering fundamentals to support the implementation of RCM principles.
- Able to interpret safety, maintenance and operational engineering standards for fixed and mobile plant.
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
- Can adapt effectively working alone or within a team.
- Previous expat experience in a developing country & challenging environment would be desirable.
