Zone Planning NSW is a specialist Town Planning & Development consultancy based at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast and Moss Vale in the Southern Highlands of NSW and has experienced strong growth since its inception, offering a variety of challenging and unique work opportunities. The NSW business is a member of the Zone Planning Group of companies that includes Zone Planning QLD and its affiliate, Zone Landscape Architecture.
Zone has extensive experience as the lead consultant in the management and delivery of a range of projects of varying complexity and scale across NSW, including high and medium density residential
developments (large scale high rise, townhouse & small lot projects), residential housing (subdivision) master planned estates and mixed use buildings and estates, retail, commercial and industrial developments, tourism & community facilities, as well as the development of planning policy.
As our industry presence continues to grow, particularly within NSW, so too does our need to recruit high calibre people. We are seeking highly motivated and exceptional individuals with 2-7 years of NSW based town planning experience who are keen to join our NSW team.
About the Role
Headquartered in our Burleigh Heads office, the Town Planner / Senior Town Planner will work across all aspects of the business in the delivery of statutory and strategic planning expertise within the NSW planning jurisdiction to both our private and public sector clients in accordance with relevant legislative requirements and best practice standards. Reporting to the Managing Director, these roles require commensurate experience and individuals capable of working autonomously, while managing a complex
portfolio of projects and a diverse clientele to ensure the ongoing and efficient
operation and growth of the business.
Skills & Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in a recognised Town Planning course (graduate Degree or post graduate Diploma)
- Have a demonstrated acuity and the ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems using a balance of technical competence, creativity, commerciality and pragmatism
- Have 2-7 years planning experience preferably in town planning consultancy and/or local government environments
- Be well versed in all aspects of local and state planning legislation, and a sound knowledge of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment regime
- Be adept at developing strategy and a competent negotiator, with strong oral and written communication to ensure the success of development outcomes for client.
- NSW North Coast region experience preferable
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Ability to prioritise tasks & manage time to ensure multiple deadlines are met
- Have a client/customer focus, being proactive and demonstrating initiative in dealings with clients and staff
