ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a unique opportunity to join the Integrated Planning team as a Strategic Financial & Planning Specialist. Reporting to the Long-Term Planning Lead, you will be part of an exciting and high-performing team responsible for delivering a safe and value-optimised development and production supply plan across the APLNG portfolio, focusing on meeting production targets and optimising value for the joint venture. The Strategic Financial & Planning Specialist will manage critical data and models for capital, financial, and development planning, ensuring optimal asset consolidation and economic evaluation.

- Update and maintain financial models to reflect financial and economic outlooks.
- Utilise industry-leading solutions for petroleum & energy economic evaluation and fiscal modelling.
- Conduct detailed economic and financial analyses to support investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate cost inputs, including Pricebook updates, challenge pricing assumptions, and support lever initiative analyses.
- Collaborate with asset teams to identify and develop viable life-of-field development plans.
- Oversee life-of-field data management processes to ensure accurate asset consolidation.
- Maintain and update comprehensive databases and software tools for accurate data management and retrieval.
- Combine and manage data and models necessary for capital, financial, and development planning.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will bring extensive experience in financial planning, economic evaluation, and cost analysis within the oil and gas industry. Your background should include the ability to solve a variety of complex process problems and production issues, demonstrating critical thinking and a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in financial forecasting, economic modelling tools, software, and data management systems.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to manage and analyse large volumes of data.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for modelling issues.
This is your chance to work on a visible and critical APLNG deliverable in collaboration with Operated Assets, Economics and Finance Teams, Asset Services, Exploration, Non-Op, and Integrated Planning team members. Your expertise will drive strategic decisions and ensure the financial health and sustainability of APLNG’s projects.
