AVK Currumbin Pty Ltd is a manufacturing facility based in Currumbin Waters on the Gold Coast. The facility manufactures valves, fittings, flanged pipes, and street-ware. The foundry has been operating since 1960 and is specialised in the process of making ductile iron casting of any object, pouring molten ductile iron into moulds.
About this Opportunity
Our Maintenance Department provides electrical, and mechanical support, to our production department delivering comprehensive maintenance programs and minor works projects. We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Maintenance Fitter to join our team in our plant in Currumbin.
Responsibilities Include:
- Mechanical assembly in preparing our products for supply
- Reading plans or technical diagrams
- Installation work
- Fault finding and identifying mechanical issues in a variety of plant machinery
- Welding, machining, repair and replacement of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic parts and equipment or fixtures using hand and power tools
- Adhering to relevant regulation based on legislation
- Mechanical Assembly of valves, actuation, and accessories
- Assembly of extension fixtures, sensing devices and protection elements
- Assembly of instrumentation, regulators, and other components
- Work with other assemblers, external contractors, and customers to create a final product
- Test and inspect components for consistency and quality
- Source materials and spare parts, liaise with contractors and out-source specialist engineering tasks
- Maintain service records (MEX)
- Basic troubleshooting of equipment and fault reporting
- Ensure work orders are completed and filled out correctly
- Following AVK policies, procedures and values
About You
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Mechanical Trade with a minimum 1 year post trade experience preferable
- Experience with Valve / actuation would be an advantage
- Strong Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read drawings
- Experience with mechanical or electrical assembly
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- An excellent work ethic, a strong focus on WHS, and a high degree of reliability and dedication to providing quality workmanship
- Ability to work full time hours with options for overtime as needed to support the company.
- Early start hours from 5.00am.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Mechanical trade qualification would be desirable
- Experience in installations, repairs, and maintenance of industrial manufacturing equipment, preferably valves and actuation
- Experience in fault finding
- Proven skills in the areas of attention to detail, problem solving with the ability to multitask
- Ability to complete tasks under limited supervision
- Proven computer literacy
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
