The Processing Department is experienced and well-resourced to support the Edna May mill, a 2.9 Mtpa gold processing plant and they are seeking a Plant Metallurgist to join the team on a 6-month Contract. Working 8 days on, 6 days off, the team bus in and out from Perth in company time.
We have an established, comfortable camp in the regional Wheatbelt town of Westonia which provides access to a community swimming pool, local shop and fitness and gym facilities. The team have an authentic and welcoming culture, they enjoy their work and take pride in contributing to the success of the Edna May operations.
Reporting to the Processing Manager, this role will:
- Monitor & report plant metallurgical performance.
- Provide technical support to the production team.
- Monitor key plant operating parameters & ensure they remain within target.
- Monitor & ensure that consumption of process consumables stay within budget.
- Ensure achievement of budget plant recoveries.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly metallurgical accounting and reporting.
- Deliver technical training and awareness programs to mine site personnel.
- Carryout metallurgical test work & trials that are aimed at improving efficiencies.
- Understand all laboratory procedures to provide coverage of lab duties.
- Monitor and ensure that laboratory results are accurate and delivered on time.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, we would like to see;
- Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Minerals Processing, or related discipline.
- Laboratory or sampling industry recognised qualification highly regarded, AAS.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in gold extraction.
- Effective utilisation of QHSE management system and Company Legal Register
- Demonstrated skills with Hazard identification and risk assessment process.
- Proficient user of MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Experience with data management and software.
- Ability to work remotely and alone.
- Ability to always work Safely.
- Ability to prioritise and schedule work.
- A West Australian C class driver’s license (manual) and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance purposes.
