About the opportunity:
- Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and support all safety indicators in line with Westgold's environment, health, and safety standards.
- Manage the plant metallurgical performance to achieve budget and forecasted production and cost metrics.
- Lead process plant optimisation and continuous improvement projects aimed at safety improvements, better plant performance and reducing costs.
- Provide technical and operational support for the day-to-day activities involved in process plant operations and maintenance.
- Assist in providing training and guidance to operational crews.
- Conduct the metallurgical accounting balance and deliver all daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Produce forecast reports and ensure adherence to the plan.
- Be involved and provide support for process engineering capital projects for the process plant.
- Conduct feasibility and optimisation studies and provide recommendations with the aim of adding value.
- Involvement in the site processing budget data collation and justifications.
- Oversee contract laboratory operations for plant results.
- Conduct all metallurgical field work tasks.
- Active training and mentoring in industry best practice process engineering and metallurgy.
What do I need?
- A tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Process or Chemical Engineering is essential.
- 3+ years in fixed plant gold processing
- Exceptional work ethic and ability be resilient in the role.
- Strong practical and technical metallurgy base knowledge.
- Demonstrated track record of problem solving leading to process plant improvements.
- Demonstrated metallurgical project experience.
- Experience in SAG and ball milling flow sheets processing hard rock underground and oxide ore.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Previous experience with Pronto and INX desirable.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
- WA Radiation Safety qualifications desired but not essential.
- Hold a current National Police Clearance and current manual driver's licence.
