You are a vital player in our story. We're on the lookout for a Senior Plant Metallurgist to join our esteemed team. This role is your ticket to a site-based permanent opportunity at the Kathleen Valley lithium project, working on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth. Depending on your start date there may be some time required in our West Perth office supporting Operational Reediness prior to mobilisation to site in late January 2023. Reporting to the Metallurgy Superintendent, you'll be the crucial technical support and leader for our Processing team.
Our cutting-edge lithium and tantalum processing facility, the largest of its kind globally, is your playground. It's packed with a range of groundbreaking processing technologies for you to finesse. Imagine working with top-of-the-line process equipment selected from the most modern designs available in the market.
Your mission?
Is to provide technical support and leadership to the Processing team to enable the safe, efficient, sustainable and cost-effective extraction of materials from ore treated in the Kathleen Valley Processing plant.
How do you succeed in this position
- Bachelor of Science in Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering (with sufficient relevant experience in Mineral Processing)
- Experience gained working as a Metallurgy Superintendent or 10 years' post-graduate experience, 5 years in a Senior Plant Metallurgist role
- Understanding of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 and Regulations 1995
- Previous experience in Lithium Processing is advantageous, including Crushing, Grinding, magnetic separation gravity separation, flotation (oxide flotation an advantage) , thickening, filtration and reagent control
- Well-developed understanding and development of metallurgical accounting practices
- Project management skills and experience
- Well-developed analytical skills, including problem-solving and data analysis
