To support our continued growth, we are looking for a competent Plant Operations Managerto help take our business forward to the next level.
This role will manage the day-to-day operational requirements for HPL including the coordination of yard control, wet and dry hire including operators, and oversee our fleet of trucks.
Your tasks will include the following:
- Ensure all requests for assets including wet and dry hire and trucks, are managed including allocation, operator deployment, sub-hiring, transport and fuel.
- Arrange all transport requests.
- Trace weekly and monthly asset inspection forms and provide reports.
- Record / Advise / Remove any faulty assets from service.
- Ensure plant records and safety information is saved and accessible for all projects.
- Ensure permits / licenses for assets are up to date.
- Provide weekly reports with locations and allocations to projects to track all assets and personnel.
- Alert Supervisors, project teams and Operations Manager of any issues that may affect production.
- Ensure equipment meets any site-specific safety / induction requirements.
- Manage and coordinate labour/personnel on a day-to-day basis.
- Ensure all requests for repairs are managed appropriately.
- Ensure all assets are maintained to Company or manufacturer standards.
- Ensure records maintenance, safety, and manuals are available for all projects.
- Arrange delivery and pick up of any faulty items or equipment.
- Ensure daily prestarts are received each day and ensure we get missing records.
To hit the ground running and be truly successful in this role, you will need:
- A detailed understanding of the various specifications for all earth moving plant and trucks (sizes, weights, attachments etc.)
- The ability to multitask and prioritise the business needs on a daily basis.
- A proven track record scheduling assets and resources with a successful outcome
- Detailed knowledge of relevant ISO quality systems
- Sound understanding of relevant legislation including EBA’s, Awards, policies, insurances, and Work Cover
- Have access to a network of subcontractors and suppliers.
- A Self-motivated and performance driven approach
- Established and maintained relationships with key suppliers.
- Asset systems experience desirable (e.g. Upvise, Assignar)
- Current Drivers License and construction card
- Intermediate computer skills and an understanding of Microsoft Office
