About this Opportunity
Safely and efficiently operate and maintain bobcats and a variety of other plant items including, loader, truck, water cart and compactor to assist in the completion of Road maintenance as part of the City’s Works program, whilst providing a high level of customer service to Council’s internal and external clients to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Great leadership skills and ability to act in the Crew Leader role when the Crew Leader is away on leave.
This position works within a small, motivated team. Further duties of this role include:
- Operate and maintain a bobcat and a variety of items of other plant and machinery as directed to complete road maintenance and construction projects.
- Experience and sound knowledge of working out and transferring level.
- Perform a range of labouring tasks, such as repairing potholes, kerbs, footpaths, shoulders, installation and maintenance of signs, traffic control and so on
- Carry out other duties as directed within the scope of the employee’s skills and abilities and in accordance with the Councils Road and Maintenance program.

About You
To be successful for this role you will require:
- Sound experience in operating bobcats including the ability to carry out final trims.
- Experience and sound knowledge of working out and transferring level.
- Demonstrated experience in physical labouring.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in road construction and maintenance.
- Experience in plant and vehicle operations, such as trucks, multi and combo rollers and water cart trucks and maintaining them in good condition.
- Current unrestricted Heavy Rigid (HR or HR-B) or Heavy Combination (HC) licence.
- Current WA Construction Industry Card (CIC) White card.
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) and Traffic Controller (TC) tickets.
- Quickcut Saw ticket or ability to obtain one.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in laying asphalt, desirable.
Hours of Work
This is permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 76 hours over a 9-day fortnight with a rostered day off.
