Form of workWe are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Plant Operator / Labourer for our Water Sewerage Gas division in Roma. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various plant equipment, ensuring the efficient operation of water, sewerage, and gas infrastructure. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain plant equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and loaders.
- Inspect and perform routine maintenance on water, sewerage, and gas infrastructure.
- Assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of water, sewerage, and gas pipelines.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure equipment and machinery are in proper working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on-site.
- Assist in the excavation of trenches and backfilling operations.
- Assist other team members in carrying out tasks as required.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including work orders and maintenance reports.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience as an operator, Plant Operator, or labourer in the water, sewerage, or gas industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of operating and maintaining plant equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and loaders.
- Familiarity with water, sewerage, and gas infrastructure systems and maintenance procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical strength and ability to perform manual labor tasks.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
- Basic computer skills for completing paperwork and reports.
- Possession of relevant certifications and licenses (e.g., White Card, Excavator License)
Working Conditions:
- This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- May involve exposure to potentially hazardous environments.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
- Flexible working hours, including weekends and overtime, may be required.
