THE ROLE:
Platform Engineer role responsible for ensuring operational performance, support, and ongoing enhancement of this HA platform fully hosted in AWS.
Act as a technical lead implementing modern technologies.
Duties include:
- Build, deploy, manage & support AWS public cloud infrastructure.
- Build & deploy IaC using Terraform.
- Operational support including Incident & Problem Management, Root Cause Analysis, Change & Release Management; BAU maintenance; monitoring/alerts etc.
- Deploy & manage Kubernetes containers.
- Non-functional testing.
- Maintain technical documentation.
- Investigate, research, and resolve tickets.
- Involvement in health checks, BCP testing, user queries etc
- Project involvement.
- Involvement in paid on-call support and after-hours roster.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / PERSONAL QUALITIES
Suitable for a Platform Engineer / AWS Cloud Engineer / SRE with AWS and Containers experience + proven operational experience supporting, monitoring & improving critical high availability environments.
Ideal for someone curious, who loves to learn, and has a genuine interest in the evolution of technology - DevOps, Containers, and the Cloud.
The following is required:
- Strong AWS public cloud experience.
- Experience managing containers (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Competent Linux System Administration skills.
- IaC exposure if highly beneficial.
- IT Operations background providing operational infrastructure/platform support inside in high availability / real time processing environments.
- DevOps tooling experience (GIT, Bamboo etc).
- Relevant certifications - CKA, AWS etc
- Demonstrate strong technical troubleshooting and logical problem-solving skills.
- Display curiosity and an eagerness/enthusiasm to learn.
- Enjoy taking ownership/accountability and be a collaborative team player.
This is a full-time permanent role located in the Sydney CBD (hybrid WFH options available) and is offering circa $140,000 - $148,500 (including super) + paid on-call allowance + bonus potential.
