AddressRandstad are proud to currently be partnering with a large State Government Department in recruiting an PO4 Senior Education Officer. This role is based in Brisbane. The contract is short term with extensions possible. This is a great opportunity to develop your fundamental skills in a supportive team.
Your new role
Your duties will be tasks including but not limited to
- Provide information and expert technical advice on home education legislation, policies and procedures to parents considering registering their child for home education or who currently have their child registered for home education.
- Assess and process home education initial and continuing registration applications made pursuant to the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006.
- Conduct internal reviews as necessary in accordance with the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006.
- Exercise delegated decision making powers in relation to home education pursuant to the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006.
- Liaise with families to assist them to understand the procedural and standard conditions of home education registration.
- Build and sustain supportive relationships between home educating families and other stakeholders.
- Support the continued improvement in provision of services and information to home educating families.
- Assist in the development and management of systems, policies, procedures and practices to ensure the department and Director-General effectively meet obligations under relevant legislation.
What will you need to be successful in this role
- Possession of a relevant degree from a recognised tertiary institution or agreed equivalent.
- Work professionally at all times displaying initiative and drive to see that goals are achieved
- Extremely high level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Analytical skills- interpreting numerical and written information
- Reliable and adaptable to respond to changes in workloads and priorities.
- Management of confidential and sensitive information
