The Role:
We are currently seeking a talented Policy and Government Relations Manager to join our client's team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with their Director of Advocacy and Corporate Affairs and the CEO to shape policies crucial to the success of the private capital industry in Australia.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Policy Development:
- Partnering with industry members to identify key policy issues and develop effective solutions.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and providing timely updates to stakeholders.
- Drafting policy documents, consultation submissions, and correspondence to policymakers.
- Contributing to advocacy plans and engaging with stakeholders to advance industry interests.
Government Relations:
- Monitoring parliamentary, public service, and regulatory activities and providing internal updates.
- Supporting government engagement initiatives, including liaison with parliamentary offices.
- Developing collateral for engagement with government stakeholders.
- Participating in meetings with senior leadership as required.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Facilitating working groups to gather industry feedback and develop policy documents.
- Managing the policy inbox and coordinating responses to correspondence.
- Collaborating with other industry associations on policy issues and response coordination.
- Coordinating government and regulatory engagement meetings.
Project Management:
- Overseeing and coordinating policy-related projects to ensure timely delivery and achievement of objectives.
- Managing multiple projects concurrently with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Collaboration:
- Working closely with internal teams to align Policy and advocacy efforts with broader organizational objectives.
- Engaging with external organizations and coalitions to amplify our client's influence on policy matters.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum three years of experience in policy development, Government Relations, or related areas.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues clearly and concisely.
- Effective project management abilities, prioritizing deadlines and outcomes.
- Demonstrated capability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proactive, flexible, and team-oriented mindset.
