About the role
The Policy Officer coordinates and undertakes policy development, providing analysis and advice, to support Agency and/or Government policy initiatives and commitments.


The Policy Officer will provide high level policy development and analysis to the Department of Education, through Training Services NSW, as part of the 1,000 NSW Government Apprentices and Trainees Election Commitment


The Election Commitment is intended to place an additional 1,000 apprentices and trainees into NSW Government Departments and State-Owned-Corporations over the next three years.


This role is time limited and will deliver on key outcomes that support the success of the commitment.

About you
We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Policy Officer to join our team. As a Policy Officer, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and undertaking policy development, providing analysis and advice to support Agency and/or Government policy initiatives and commitments.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to keep up solid working connections and possess clear communication and able to maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Capable of adapting to new situations and flexible in your approach to work.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • A valid Working with Children Check
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education

Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.
