Catholic Health Australia (CHA) is at the forefront of shaping health and aged care policy, advocating on behalf of its members in key areas of health and aged care policy and funding.
The aged care and healthcare sectors are undergoing significant reform and facing challenges related to workforce shortages, financial sustainability and demographic changes. CHA plays a vital role in advocating for government policy to be responsive to the unique challenges faced by these sectors so that our members can continue to provide high quality and compassionate care to all Australians.

This individual will be pivotal in crafting policy and advocacy strategies that resonate with policymakers — from drafting compelling position papers to representing CHA in crucial discussions.

Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Policy Directors and CHA colleagues in the delivery of a range of policy related projects and initiatives to facilitate the timely delivery of policy objectives
- Undertaking research and analysis to inform decision making, contribute to policy development and support internal and external communication initiatives
- Contributing to the preparation of draft correspondence, papers, submissions and minutes to support the development of policy initiatives
- Engaging and consult with key stakeholders including CHA members, sector stakeholders and government to identify emerging policy issues and advocate for CHA members interests
- Providing a range of administrative activities in support of the policy team, including coordinating working groups and committees, to support stakeholder engagement, policy development and implementation
- Responding to routine policy queries from members and CHA staff to provide consistent advice and information
- Working effectively with team members to support collaboration and identification of common issues across the health and aged care sectors
