About the opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pool Inspector to join our team and contribute to the efficient enforcement of building regulations within the Cardinia Shire municipal district. As a Pool Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring pool safety compliance and supporting the development of a customer-focused building surveying service.
What you will deliver
- Administer and enforce pool safety regulations, including responses to Pool Register matters.
- Ensure compliance with the Building Act 1993 and Building Regulations 2018, addressing enforcement issues as needed.
- Facilitate fire safety and essential safety measures, including pool/spa barrier auditing and compliance.
- Provide and implement community educational in pool safety program.
- Conduct investigations into safety and building standards, taking appropriate enforcement actions.
- Assist in report assessments and preparation of recommendations for the Municipal Building Surveyor.
- Contribute to policy development and implementation related to building control matters.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and participate in cross-functional teams to enhance enforcement strategies.
What you will bring
- A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably a Diploma in Building Surveying or inspection.
- Building Practitioner’s registration with a Pool Inspector category (preferred).
- Experience in building surveying, regulatory enforcement, or administration roles.
- Proficiency in interpreting and implementing building regulations and standards.
- Strong communication skills to engage with internal teams and external customers effectively.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- A current Victorian driver’s license and willingness to adhere to Cardinia’s Values Framework.
