About the role
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Investment Stewardship Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our investment stewardship program, making a significant impact on our strategic approach to responsible investing.
Key areas of accountability will include:
- Conduct in-depth company-specific research and analysis on material ESG risks, with an emphasis on climate change, human rights, labor practices, human capital management, and corporate governance.
- Play a pivotal role in shaping investment stewardship objectives for our portfolio companies, ensuring alignment with our firm's sustainability goals.
- Monitor and report on the progress of investee companies against set stewardship objectives, providing insightful updates and recommendations.
- Actively prepare for and engage in meetings with investee companies to advocate for responsible business practices and drive meaningful change.
- Influence our proxy voting decisions through meticulous research and analysis, ensuring that our votes reflect our commitment to ESG principles.
- Deliver accurate and timely reporting on stewardship activities to both internal and external stakeholders, highlighting our firm's dedication to transparency and accountability.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared success.
This role is available as a full-time, permanent opportunity.
About you
If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications may include:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as finance, accounting, economics, commerce, law, or science.
- Between 2 to 7 years of professional experience within the investment or financial services industries, with a focus on investment research, Sustainable Investments, ESG, corporate governance research, investor relations, or company engagement.
- A solid understanding of SASB Standards and GRI, and an ability to apply these frameworks effectively in a practical setting.
- A proven track record of engaging with board members and C-suite executives, displaying both confidence and competence in high-level interactions.
- Deep familiarity with the market environment, coupled with an innate ability to navigate and interpret financial landscapes.
