A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Portfolio & Assets Manager to join a well-established not-for-profit organisation. They are a significant institutional land owner with a varied portfolio of strategic assets, and support and collaborate with a number of related agencies across Greater Sydney.
Your new role
Managing the facilities team and reporting to the Director of Property & Infrastructure, the position is responsible for facilities planning and asset management of properties owned by the organisation, as well as support on agency assets. The aim is to ensure properties are maintained in an orderly manner, within annual budgets and utilised as effectively and efficiently as possible.
To achieve this, the Portfolio & Assets Manager will be required to understand the issues involved in commercial, residential and general property asset management, as well as prepare budgets and one-off and regular programmed maintenance projects. The role is strategic, high-profile and requires experience in strategy and management as well as the ability to understand technical details. You will have strong presentation and report writing skills to underpin these objectives.
You will ensure your team are accountable for seamless day-to-day facilities' management, primarily including:
- Developing effective relationships and providing reliable advice to all stakeholders.
- Acting as a single point of facilities management contact for senior leadership team.
- General facility management duties including after-hours emergency contact.
- Managing all service contracts.
- Responding to queries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Managing WHS systems and compliance.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will possess significant experience in a similar role with responsibility for a portfolio of works that included commercial buildings. Heritage works would be advantageous. You will have a proactive approach and a commitment to ensure deadlines, budgets and priorities are met, while operating with discretion and exercising confidentiality.
