Summary:
We are seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to individuals with challenging behaviours, helping them to develop Positive Behaviours and improve their quality of life. The role requires a compassionate and patient individual who is able to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviours
- Develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support plans that are tailored to the individual's needs and goals
- Provide training and support to clients, families, and caregivers on how to implement the Behaviour Support plan
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Behaviour Support plan, making adjustments as necessary
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive support to clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and behaviour incidents
- Attend team meetings and participate in ongoing professional development activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
- Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours, preferably in a community or residential setting
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
