Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner

Capacity Builders WA provides creative, functional and evidence-based therapy services that help children, and their families succeed in life. We are looking to add an enthusiastic and passionate Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to our growing team. 

There is a highly sought-after need for more Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners in our ever growing organisation. This position is community-based sessions and will suit applicants looking for full-time equivalent hours in a unique, creative and coveted environment.

This position is on a casual basis that is offered with a generous salary.

• Working with participants with a range of presenting needs including complex care, intellectual disabilities, communication difficulties, mental health and behaviours of concerns.
• Providing high quality specialist care to participants in order to optimise and  improve their health outcomes and psychological wellbeing
• Sharing best practice and the latest behavioural interventions through training and supporting colleagues

What you will bring to the team:

• Demonstrated skills and experience in behaviour analytic skills.
• Demonstrated experience in providing behavioural assessment and intervention across a range of settings that include family, out-of-home care, and community-based care.
• Demonstrated expert knowledge and skills in a specific clinical speciality gained from experience working as a clinician.
• Demonstrate Strong knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support principles including functional behaviour assessment, intervention and service delivery practices, and Restrictive Practice Authorisation processes. 
• Good people skills are a must as this job is all about working very closely with participants. 
• High level of attention to detail & the ability to multi-task.
• Experience in writing assessments and reports to monitor participants progress.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team involved in the care of patients and their families .
• Ability to work in team and maintain a good relationship. 
• Experience in clinical supervision and training of proficient and core practitioners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to share ideas and think outside the box.

• Current suitability confirmed by NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission at the Advanced or Specialist level.
• Experience working in the disability sector and with NDIS.
• Bachelors degree in Psychology, Counselling, Board-Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA), Occupational Therapy, Teaching, Social Work, Social Sciences, Childhood Education, Allied Health or other relevant area with the current registration with the professional body.
• A minimum of 5+ years’ experience working with people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or other disabilities who engage in severely challenging behaviours of concern.
• Working with Children's Check
• Police Clearance
