Full time, research only fixed term for 24 months Opportunity to join the School of Medical sciences as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Systems Neuroscience and Complexity Base Salary starting from $105,350 + 17% superannuation About the opportunityThe School of Medical Sciences is recognised as one of the leading centres for medical science education in the world. Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas. The Shine Lab at the University of Sydney invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship position in the field of Computational Neuroscience and Functional Neuroimaging. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative research (A/Prof Lizier, School of Computer Science; Dr Ben Fulcher, School of Physics) team focused on advancing our understanding of brain function and cognition using cutting-edge computational and neuroimaging techniques.Your key responsibilities will be to:conduct original research in the areas of computational Neuroscience and functional neuroimagingprepare research findings for publication in relevant specialist and general neuroscience journalscollaborate with members of the Shine Lab and external collaborators to enhance interdisciplinary research effortsprocess and analyse functional neuroimaging data (fMRI, EEG, etc.) to extract meaningful insights into brain function.About youa PhD in Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field (by July 2024)strong background in computational modelling and/or functional neuroimaging techniquesproficiency in programming languages commonly used in neuroscience research (e.g., Python, MATLAB)excellent written and verbal communication skills, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in relevant journalsproven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.To keep our community safe, please be aware of our COVID safety precautions which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Pre-employment checksYour employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
