An opportunity has presented for either an experienced Post Office counter operator or a suitable Retail Trainee to join our team.
About the roleThe successful candidate will be be tasked with the following Customer Service and shop assistant duties:
- Counter transactions including stock sales; Post BillPay; Bank@Post; Western Union transfers; mail redirections; Post Office Box (POB) openings
- Passport processing and passport photos
- Extended Identity Services (EIS) including Tax File Number (TFN) declarations; Lands Title ID checks; bank account opening ID checks; High Risk Work License ID checks
- POB mail sorting; inbound & outbound mail processing and carded parcel retrievals
- Restocking shelves; merchandising & stock relays
- Shop opens and closes
- Counter and office balances (including the security of cash)
- General shop upkeep including cleaning
Additional responsibilities may be added to the role for the right candidate or as the candidate develops within their role.
Starting as a Casual with approximately 20 - 30 hours per week (including rotational Saturday work) - further opportunities may present as the individual progresses within his / her role.
About youTo be successful in this role you will need to be energetic, friendly and happy to work in a fast paced environment.
Experience at an LPO or CPO (including an active WFID with up to date training) is advantageous but not essential - training can be provided on the job for the right candidate.
You must be willing to learn & adapt to efficient and safe workplace practices specific to our shop.
You will need to be legally allowed to work (without restrictions) in Australia and have reliable transport.
You will have the necessary physical fitness to lift parcels and stand for long periods.
You should have flexibility to work in multiple stores
You will also be subject to criminal history background checks.
Selected candidates may be invited to complete a written aptitude test before an interview is offered.
