  • Level A/B Salary $ 79,784 - $ 134, 403 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The Sydney School of Health Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine and Health is at the forefront of health science education and undertakes high-impact research that anticipates the health issues of tomorrow while overcoming the challenges of today.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate/Research Fellow with a strong interest in cardiovascular disease prevention and management.

The incumbent will be required to work across multiple projects led by Dr Niamh Chapman and Dr Dean Picone - and the team in their vision to improve the measurement and management of high blood pressure through a diverse, multidisciplinary program of research.

The research aims to improve the measurement and management of hypertension, also known as high blood pressure. High blood pressure is responsible for more premature death and avoidable disability than any other risk factor. Effective blood pressure management requires regular measurement of blood pressure, a team-based approach to healthcare, regular feedback between the patient and their care team and patient education.

Dr Niamh Chapman and Dr Dean Picone’s work takes a multidisciplinary approach to understanding effective blood pressure management and includes collaboration with consumer advisors with lived experience of high blood pressure, bioengineers, implementation experts, health professionals, clinical triallists and public health experts in Australia and from across the globe.

This is an opportunity to contribute as an early career researcher to a growing research program that has national and international scope.
