The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is inviting applications for an 18-24-month, full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate / Fellow position in Cell Imaging.
About the Role:
As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you'll be based at the UTS Node and will work closely with distinguished scientists and you will work under the supervisor of Distinguished Professor Dayong Jin.

About you
As the Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow you will play a key role in contributing to the groundbreaking research program at the Institute for Biomedical Materials & Devices (IBMD) by applying quantum technologies to advance our understanding and applications across biomedical imaging, chemical design, and clean energy.
The successful candidate will have the following requirements:
- PhD in biotechnology, photonics, and cell biology.
- Ability to undertake original research, as evidenced by timely and high-quality outputs.
- Willingness to contribute to seek research funding from external sources.
- Extensive knowledge and skills in fluorescence microscopy, spin disc super resolution microscopy, cell biology methods development and data analysis including computational imaging.
- At least two years of postdoc experience with strong track records competitive for the ARC DECRA (or industry) fellowships.
- Previous experience in research in an area relevance to fluorescence microscopy, bioconjugation and characterization, organoids, and cell/tissue bioengineering.

About the Faculty
The Faculty of Science's organisational structure consists of two schools, two research institutes, administrative services and Technical Services. Comprising of five discipline-based teams and an operations team, Technical Services is Faculty led, providing technical expertise and operational management for Academic Staff and students covering more than 100 teaching and research laboratories and ancillary spaces that includes a store and workshop.
Remuneration and Benefits
Base Salary Range: $89,818 to $109,393 (Level A) / $119,475 to $141,405 pa (Level B)
The successful applicant may be appointed at level A or B dependent on their level of expertise and experience as outlined in the essential criteria on the Position Statement.
This role also attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full time, and the appointment will be made on a fixed term basis.
Successful candidates can start between July 2024 and January 2025 for 18- or 24-months period. This is aligned to the timeline of the project and can be discussed at interview
