About the Role
As the Area Manager – Power Generation, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the power stations within the allocated region. You will be providing leadership and technical support to your teams and be engaging and collaborating with internal support functions to optimise the running of the power station. The key responsibilities include:
- Accountable for the safety of people, assets, and the environment ensuring best practice.
- Lead, develop and train team to deliver the best outcomes for the power stations.
- Delivery of PPA contracts and commercial requirements including reporting, invoicing and interface with Clients.
- In conjunction with the Operation Manager develop, deliver and monitor the operations and maintenance budgets.
- Coordinate PPA escalations and fuel efficiency activities are completed and issued to the client in a timely manner whilst PPA performance is maintained.
- Lead engagement with asset management team to ensure planning of short term and long-term maintenance.
- Leverage best practice and lessons learnt across the business value chain ensuring continuous improvement is implemented.
- Ability to travel to site as required.
Perth based role: 5/2 with site visits.
About You
As the Power Station Operator / Maintainer you will have the following experience, knowledge, and skills to bring to the role.
Experience
- Minimum of 4 - 6 years post-trade qualification experience preferably in the remote power industry
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary team and or business function within the resources industry. Desirably experience in FIFO operations and managing a site-based team.
- Experience developing, managing and monitoring budgets.
- Performance Management, Coaching and Supervision experience with the ability to provide timely and constructive feedback to the team.
Skills/Ability
- Advanced Microsoft office suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, teams.
- Ability to prioritise work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High levels of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated interest in learning and continuously enhancing skills.
- Team orientated, with strong relationship and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications & Clearances
- Electrical/ Mechanical trade certificate or tertiary qualification in electrical/ mechanical engineering and desirably leadership/management training.
- Ability to pass a National Police Clearance and Pre-employment Medical.
- Right to work in Australia
