Tjiwarl Katu Power (TKP), a joint venture company between Tjiwarl Contracting Services P/L & Zenith Energy, is a majority indigenous owned and operated power company providing sustainable energy solutions across Australia. Tjiwarl Contracting Services (TCS) is a wholly owned entity of the Tjiwarl Aboriginal Corporation. There are two positions available within TKP. The positions will work closely with Zenith Energy in partnership with TKP. The role requires FIFO travel to the various remote Power Stations.
Position Summary:This role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the assigned Power Station with duties including, but not limited to:
- Configuring generating equipment to best suit current and most efficient operational conditions.
- Control system testing.
- Troubleshooting, analysis and repair of power generation equipment/systems and associated auxiliary and balance of plant.
- Accurately recording data as and when required (this will include carrying out administration-type tasks such as daily operating rounds, completing and submitting timesheets, carrying out stocktake and ordering of parts/materials)
- Preparation of reports and making recommendations to management for the continual improvement of the equipment within our domain
- Carry out routine and breakdown maintenance as and when required
- Maintain the assigned site in a clean and tidy state
- Submit reports to both TKP/Zenith and Client as and when required
- Attend the Power Station during after-hours (whilst on site) for faults/breakdowns as and when required.
This position reports to the Area Manager – Power Generation and corroborates with the operations and maintenance function staff. The role requires active participation in mentoring Trades Assistant-Operators, Apprentices and Contractors as and when required.
DutiesKey duties essential to the role include:
- Key stakeholder, taking an active role in on-site safe work programs.
- General station and plant maintenance/servicing.
- Undertaking activities and assisting other company and contract personnel in their day-to-day activities.
- Housekeeping requirements.
- Adhering to the TKP/Zenith Energy Fitness for Duty Policy in particular when required to attend the site after hours (given the 24/7 Power Station operation).
- Maintaining/ordering parts and equipment for the site.
- Perform mechanical tasks as directed.
- Any other duties required to undertake the role and fulfill operational requirements within the job's scope.

Maintain site registers as and when required.
Ensure that all TKP/Zenith HSE requirements are upheld.
Ensure that all assigned PPE is always in a fit-for-use condition.

Heavy Industry experience
FIFO experience

Comply with HSE requirements
Desirable
Proven experience in operating and/or repairing power generation equipment
Experience with Digital Governors speed controllers and AvR’s.
Qualifications, Certification, Accreditation or LicenceEssential
Recognized Trade Qualification (preferably Electrical or Mechanical)
Open class WA driver’s license
Have or a willingness to obtain;
- Nationally accredited forklift license
- Supervised Gas worker training
- High Voltage Switching certificate (Electrical personnel only)'
- First Aid certificate
Desirable
Overhead gantry and/or dogman’s ticket
Nationally accredited EWP license
Riggers/dogman ticket(s)
ClearancesAbility to pass pre-employment and as required medical assessment, drug, and alcohol screen
Agree to apply for a National Police Clearance when requested
Have a valid Manual Drivers Licence
Willing to undertake medical clearance
