About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Operator to assist in the day-to-day operations and improvements to our existing power station assets.
Your role will be to provide training to operations staff and to provide technical support, to the Operations and Maintenace teams.
Reporting to the Electrical Coordinator Operations Technical Group, this role has no direct reports.
Your duties are to include, but not limited to:
- Planned and unplanned maintenance and fault find/trouble shoot and analysis of power generation equipment and associated ancillary equipment (including rectifying any outstanding works)
- Training staff in day-to-day operations of power generation equipment and associated ancillary equipment.
- Assist operations with BESS, inverters and solar installation fault diagnosis.
- Assist projects with commissioning of new power stations.
- Liaise closely with BESS, solar and inverter OEM’s to ensure knowledge base remains current with new technologies.
- Maintenance planning and procurement of required equipment.
- New site mobilisation and operational readiness support and evaluations.
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities for Zenith’s power stations.
- On call duties as required and relief operating when staff are sick or on leave.
You will need to have a flexible approach to roster changes to meet operational requirements.
About You
As the Technical Operator you will have the following experience, knowledge, and skills to bring to the role.
Experience and Skills
Essential
- A minimum of five (5) years post trade work experience within the power generation industry
- Proven Technical knowledge.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to train on the job for the operational staff.
- Excellent computer literacy skills
- Understanding of, and commitment to safety
Desirable
- COMAP and other generation control system experience
- BESS, Wind turbine generation, inverter, and solar experience
- Jenbacher engine and/or controls experience
Qualifications, Certifications, Accreditations or License
- Valid WA Electrical License
- Valid WA motor vehicle driver’s license minimum C class (not restricted to automatic vehicle)
Desirable
- Formal PLC training
- Attain Jenbacher level qualification for control system.
- High Voltage Switching certificate.
- EEHA qualification
- First Aid training
- EWP license
- Forklift license.

- Drug and Alcohol
