Due to ongoing expansion we currently have a full-time position for a Medical Practice Manager to join a growing solo specialist urology practice in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. You will be working independently with our urologist. This is a full time position, but we are a flexible workplace and happy to negotiate different conditions for the right candidate. We need a caring and organised person to help us continue to deliver high-quality care to our patients. We are seeking a long term committment to the role.

- Greet patients and general front desk responsibility
- Manage inpatient and outpatient appointments
- Action plans from clinic including booking surgery, informed financial consent, surgical quotes, booking postoperative appointment
- Organise theatre lists, correspond with hospitals, anaesthetists
- Manage recalls and referrals
- Investigate Medicare billing errors/unpaid claims
- Debt collection and billing procedures
- Resolve patient complaints
- Maintain relationships with local GP clinics and referrers or other Health care providers to facilitate patient care
- Maintain practice policies and procedures and keep up to date with current legislation
- Hiring and training new/replacement staff as needed
- Any other tasks as per operational necessity
- 4+ years experience in a similar medical practice management role
- Experience in surgical billing and theatre list scheduling for specialist
- Experience with practice software - Xestro, including accurate use of Xestro for patient communication, record-keeping, and medical billing
- Thorough understanding of financial management of a medical business, including MBS Item numbers, ECLIPSE claiming, Medicare and DVA claiming
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated high level of attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Exceptional phone manner
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced medical environment
- A caring, down-to-earth attitude towards patients
- Ability to work under pressure and make responsible decisions
