Our team is a single director firm of 15+, including managers, accountants at all levels, bookkeepers, administrative staff, internal accounts, secondment and offshore staff.
We are looking for a full-time Practice Manager to join our team. To be considered for this position you will have 5+ years' experience as a Practice Manager in a chartered Accounting Firm and will have had exposure to operational, financial and people management aspects over your roles. Strong experience with MYOB AE is desirable as well as first-rate written and verbal communication skills.
You will ideally have a corporate background and be comfortable communicating with people at all levels. You will be able to manage time effectively to ensure the smooth running of all facets of the business.

- Minimum HSC or tertiary qualification;
- 5+ years’ Practice Manager experience in a similar sized or larger chartered Accounting Firm;
- Ability to manage staff in an efficient manner;
- Strong communication skills - verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and prioritise.
Responsible for:
- Oversee and manage practice operations and workflow;
- Managing and overseeing the tasks of the administrative team;
- High level of support to the director;
- Business Development function – the first point of contact for new business and maintaining those existing client relationships;
- HR function – recruitment, onboarding, training, performance reviews and contract administration;
- Ensuring professional employees meet their CPD accreditation requirements with CAANZ and CPA;
- Liaising with the accountants to prepare budgets and job forecasts;
- Workflow management - being the champion for the Job Manager function in our Practice Management accounting software and ensuring jobs are being entered, assigned and budgets are up to date including staying abreast of jobs with budgets and due dates that are coming up to or over budget or overdue;
- Preparation of monthly retainer and other invoices;
- Preparation of accurate and timely productivity and budget reports to the director;
- Maintaining the company’s Quality Assurance compliance requirements with CAANZ;
- Keep abreast of internal administrative policies, practices and guidelines.
- Administer the monthly management of the WIP report review and clean up, including facilitating meetings and processing invoices etc where required.
- Screen incoming telephone calls and emails, managing client and administrative matters as appropriate and in a timely manner.
- Manage Corporate Compliance requirements for all Jennings Partners clients as advised by the Director and staff e.g. annual returns, change of address, change of Directors/Shareholders/share structure.
- Administer the creation of new entities and changes to entities, including registrations, as instructed by the Director.
- Facilitate the preparation of client engagements as instructed by the Director.
- Administer client ATO payment arrangements and remission of penalties and interest
Technical abilities:
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word.
- Previous experience using the practice management software as deployed e.g. MYOB AE (desirable)
- IT troubleshooting skills
- Attractive remuneration package of $90k to $120k based on experience;
