Nyman Gibson Miralis is a leading criminal Law Firm based in the Sydney CBD. Due to the continued growth and success of the firm, a unique opportunity has now become available for an Assistant Practice Manager who will provide critical support to the Practice Manager.
This newly created role is ideally suited to an experienced accounts clerk or legal executive assistant who can handle a busy and varied workload hoping to upskill in the direction of office management. Ideally, the role is a full-time position however we will consider 5 hours per day, five days per week.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, this role promises to be varied in a relaxed and friendly environment assisting in the day-to-day operations of the firm. The role includes finance support, HR and administration support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Payroll/IAS/Payroll Tax and Superannuation
- Preparing and lodging quarterly BAS Statements
- Trust Accounting and Compliance
- Bank Reconciliation and End of Month
- Billing support
- General Ledger
- Trust Accounting financial transactions
- Provision of Financial Reports
- Debtors and Creditors/Data Entry
- Assist with the on-boarding of new staff including preparation of contracts
- Adhoc legal administration and accounting duties as required
Essential Criteria:
- Knowledge of administration and financial systems and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong knowledge of the legal industry operations and processes preferred
- Highly organised
- Legal accounting experience including trust accounting
- Ability to meet deadlines
- IT savvy
- Prior experience with LexisNexis Affinity experience preferred but not essential
- Ability to multi-task with excellent time management skills
- Understand the value of discretion and confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
