Practice Nurse

We are looking for an experienced part time nurse to join our family. 

The role is an exciting opportunity for the right motivated nurse. For those candidates with no experience in dermatology or procedures, we can provide you with all the required training. We consult over all the difficult (and interesting) cases that other doctors have had trouble with. We pride ourselves on giving the highest standard of patient care and are motivated in our efforts to improve patient outcomes. But this is a team effort, and you will become an integral part of our team.  

The whole spectrum of skin disorders that we deal with are:

• Skin checks and surveillance including surgical management of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
• Inflammatory dermatoses: eczema, psoriasis, drug rashes, urticaria, pregnancy rashes.
• Acne, rosacea, hidradenitis suppurativa.
• Children – rashes and birth marks.
• Alopecia.
• Nail disorders.
• Cosmetic dermatology.

 Apart from consultations and surgical excisions we also provide phototherapy, LED therapy, many laser treatments for pigmentation, blood vessels, acne scaring and facial rejuvenation. 

The nurse role will expand and grow with our practice, but your current daily responsibilities will be:

• Assisting our dermatologists with consultations. You’ll be their go-to person for support.
• Prepare and maintain all clinical instruments and consultation rooms.
• Relaying medical results.
• Ensuring patients are given all relevant medication information, including biologics support.
• Wound management, suture removal, and application of dressings, wart treatments and patch testing.
• Assist reception as required.
• Setting up patients for procedures (biopsies/excisions) & educating them pre and post- treatment.
• Educating patients on their medical conditions under guidance and supervision of the doctors.

It is a busy, intense workplace and you will be working closely with our dermatologists. You will learn a tremendous amount and grow as a nurse in knowledge, skills and confidence. The scope of duties of the Practice Nurse does not include administering cosmetic treatments. We have a cosmetic nurse and therapists to perform these roles.
