Whitehorse Medical Centre is a private GP owned general practice located in the heart of the residential and business hub of thriving Mitcham.
We are recruiting for a Practice Nurse to join our nursing team, to assist our doctors on a day-to-day basis. Previous experience in general practice will be considered favourably, however, the right attitude is more important. This is the perfect opportunity to join a supportive, busy medical clinic!
General scope of daily tasks
- Triaging patients
- Patient recalls
- Clinical care (wound irrigation and dressing)
- Clinical data management
- Assisting doctors with minor procedures
- Assisting doctors with chronic disease management plans (GPMP/TCA)
- Assisting with health assessments
- Immunisation programs (childhood, influenza, workplace influenza programs and COVID-19)
- Assisting doctors with travel vaccinations
- Assisting with cold chain management
- Sterilisation of instruments
Essential Selection Criteria: - Registered nurse with current AHPRA Registration
- Working with children check and satisfactory criminal history
- Current CPR Certificate
Desirable skills and attributes
- Can do attitude and a team player
- Computer literacy, competence in using clinical software (Best Practice) and relevant medical equipment
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously, as part of the team and using one’s own initiative
Hours of work
Part-time 2-3 days a week, Monday to Friday
Remuneration
Hourly rate will depend on skills and experience.
