Aegis Health is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join Aegis Health Medical Centre in delivering the Aegis Vision:
To serve the community, guiding people in their journey to health and wellness by supporting the mind, body, and spirit.
The Aegis Group has established a healthcare hub, at the new Murdoch Square health and knowledge precinct, in the southern suburbs of Perth. This purpose-designed hub will seamlessly integrate a full range of services in one location. These comprise the Aegis Health Medical Centre providing primary care, as well as occupational health, mental health inpatient and outpatient services, and surgical services. These new services are due to commence in 2024.
The Medical Centre offers a custom designed private General Practice, with future urgent care capacity as a second stage service development. The service will accommodate seven consulting rooms, treatment rooms and treatment bays with dedicated areas for wound, nursing consult and minor procedures. The Practice Nurse role will be an integral clinical leadership position working closely with the Practice Manager.
About You
You should ideally be an experienced self-motivated, ethical & dedicated professional. Possessing strong problem solving and analytical skills. You should have good organisational skills, with exceptional communications (both written & verbal) and strong interpersonal skills.
The responsibilities of this role encompass:
- Providing primary health care services to patients. Ensuring comprehensive and sustainable primary health care through engaging and collaborating with patients.
- Embracing quality improvement, education, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based practice to meet needs of patients.
- Develop & co-ordinate daily activities services (supported by Clinical Team & Practice Administration).
- Actively participate as part of a supportive team in clinical decision making within your own scope of knowledge & practice.
- Utilize knowledge & skill base in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care and liaises with medical providers in planning and providing nursing care.
- Ensure workforce provide multidisciplinary and holistic approach of care to consumers by providing support & liaising with cross functional internal departments & external agencies.
- Perform duties in accordance with specific identified policies and procedures and applicable legislative obligations under Health Services Act, RACGP 5th accreditation guidelines, Occupational Safety and Health Act, Poisons Act, Disability Services Act, Equal Opportunity Act, and other relevant legislation.
- Undertakes auditing to measure performance including collecting required data for reporting to for the purposes of benchmarking.
- Maintains knowledge and experience in continuous safety and quality improvement initiatives.
You need to possess the following essential qualifications, skills & knowledge:
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
- Prior experience in Practice nurse in General practice settings, outpatient, and demonstrates clinical knowledge, experience, and capability in the delivery of high-quality evidence-based primary health care nursing:
- Cold Chain Management
- Sterilisation management
- Cannulation certification
- Immunisation
- Advance wound care management
- Able to conduct spirometry, ear syringing, CHDM, Care plans.
Desirable:
- Experience in RACGP accreditation.

- Working with children
- AHPRA registration certificate
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Immunisation certificate
