The Role
Full and Part time positions opportunities across MQ Health outpatient clinics, including the MQ Health General Practice, with the opportunity for a progression into a leadership position for the suitable candidate.
We are seeking motivated, service-driven Primary Care / Outpatient Nurses with a passion for delivering high quality patient care to join the MQ Health Team. The successful candidate/s will be part of a multidisciplinary health care team and will value patient centred team-based care and evidence-based practice.
This position is responsible for the provision of efficient and effective nursing services and for collaboratively developing and maintaining clinical service models that integrate care and achieve optimal patient outcomes. They ensure the delivery of high-quality Outpatient Nursing care in accordance with legislative requirements and professional guidelines. This role will also incorporate unsupervised clinical practice, patient advocate, supervision and mentorship / preceptorship, counselling, interaction / liaison within a team as well as accurate and timely documentation.
Key Accountabilities include: (not limited to):
Provide effective, efficient coordination of clinical services for patients of MQ Health clinics throughout the continuum of care.
Proactive chronic disease management, including health assessments and care plans.
Provide clinical nursing services, including patient triage, pre-admission patient assessments, immunisations, wound management, ECGs, iron infusions, and procedures.
Maintain stocks of clinical supplies, ensuring correct storage and timely reordering.
Cold chain management.
Uphold a safe and clean working environment, including maintenance of clinical equipment.
Maintain a cooperative relationship with the team, documenting and communicating information, responding to requests, and being an active participant in the patient’s care team.
Liaise with Clinic Directors and Practice Managers about effectiveness of the service/s.
Use information technology effectively to monitor ongoing resource utilisation.
Ensure that nursing practice in the MQ Health clinics is compliant with NSW Health and MQ Health policies and procedures and best practice guidelines.
Leadership component will be responsible for managing and providing leadership to the Outpatient Nursing Team. Contribute to the day-to-day management and monitoring of workforce allocation and roster development.

Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Previous experience within a general practice setting or similar, with the willingness to effectively work in team-based care and within a larger organisation.
Experience in setting up systems for, and involvement in team-based care.
Stakeholder management skills, ensuring that multiple people with different agendas are working efficiently to the same end.
Effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to build and foster positive working relationships within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to work within an environment where prioritising and problem solving abilities are required.
Experience within aligning to quality improvement and aligning to standards and willingness to initiate and contribute to quality activities.
To be considered for the TeamLeader position, demonstrated experience leading a Primary CareNursing Team including rostering, recruitment, professional development and resource allocation.
