Pedare is a coeducational Anglican and Uniting Church school comprising of Junior (R-5), Middle (Years 6-9) and Senior (Years 10-12) based in Golden Grove. The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to commence in Term 3, 2024. The successful applicant will be required to work every Monday and Tuesday on a 0.4 FTE basis for a 6-month contract. Reporting to the Head of Junior school, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for inspiring students in their learnings.
The role:
- Have thorough knowledge of the subject matter to enable the course objectives to be taught
- Set programmes and lesson objectives based on the Australian curriculum
- Understanding of and experience in the Primary Years Programme and / or Guided Inquiry
- Give feedback to students, encourage and involve students in class to enable them to fulfil their potential
- Maintain control of class discipline to create appropriate work habits
- Use appropriate assessment items and accurately record all marks and results for student assessment
- Promote a trusting and caring approach within the classroom
- Ability to relate well to students, recognising both the pastoral and educative aspects of the student-teacher relationship
- Maintain an interest in the welfare of students and promote the wellbeing of students
- Some out of hours may be required due to role requirements
- Willingness to participate in extra curricular is encouraged
What we need:
- Current Working With Child Check (WWCC)
- Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and neglect (RRHAN)
- Current Teacher Registration Certificate in South Australia
- First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred)
- Academic Transcripts and Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates
All certificates and qualification(s) must be provided to the College prior to commencement of employment; and the College requires the applicant to disclose any information relevant to their eligibility to engage in activities involving children and young people.
