Job Description
  • Part-time 0.8 FTE
  • Healesville VIC
  • Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550 

As the Primary Therapist, you'll provide support both to individual residents and groups and to the multidisciplinary team in the daily support to residents at EACHs AOD Rehabilitation Program. You will do this in. line with EACH policy and procedures and in conjunction with the MH & AOD Service Stream. This will include delivering within a multi-disciplinary team high-quality services, interventions, and practice expertise to ensure best outcomes for residents.

You will achieve this through your demonstrated experience and expertise in working with residents and the team to develop and work towards healing oriented, recovery and transition plans, and individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will provide clinical supervision, reflective practice, and case review opportunities within the program. Your commitment and experience will create a best practice and supportive environment that leads to successful resident outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions and programs for individuals and groups, incorporating various modalities.
  • Develop and monitor transition plans to maintain treatment gains and support social connection.
  • Support clients awaiting counselling services through interim support.
  • Provide professional development for multi-disciplinary teams on best practice, evidence-based interventions, de-escalation strategies, and recovery planning.
  • Maintain a minimum caseload as per program requirements.
  • Work within a trauma-informed framework, recognizing and addressing experiences of trauma.
  • Refer clients to appropriate specialist services as needed.
Qualifications

• Relevant health and/or welfare tertiary qualification such as Social Work, Psychology, Dual Diagnosis, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences or Counselling with appropriate registration e.g. Australia Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

• Certificate IV in AOD or completion of the required competencies.

• A current First Aid Certificate.

• A cleared National Worker Screening Check prior to commencement of employment.
