About the Role
Join us in shaping Australia's energy future! We're seeking a dynamic Principal Advisor to play a pivotal role in our Generation & Development team.
As a key player reporting to the Head of Approvals, you'll be at the forefront of our new generation asset projects. Your focus will be on securing crucial environmental approvals, steering projects toward Financial Investment Decision (FID), and ensuring seamless compliance during construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead environmental approval processes across diverse Australian jurisdictions.
- Champion compliance management through construction phases.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimise project outcomes.
- Actively contribute to the extended leadership team in the Generation & Development Business Unit.
- Develop and maintain functional budgets, strategic relationships, and industry connections.
- A relevant degree in Town Planning, Environmental Planning or Environmental Science.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in the preparation, granting and implementation of approvals as well as compliance management within energy, heavy industry, or resource sectors.
- Expertise in Federal statutory processes (EPBC Act) and understanding of at least two State jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to manage consultants, engage with regulatory bodies, and conduct effective negotiations.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Sound knowledge of risk management processes.
- Strong organisation, coordination, and multitasking abilities.
