UnitingCare is seeking a Compliance and Governance Advisor to develop, implement, maintain and oversight systems to support organisation wide best practice policy management.
Please note, this is a full time permanent role with hybrid working options.
Your part in our UnitingCare team
Policy
- Lead implementation of UnitingCare’s policy management framework and solution.
- Develop and drive processes to ensure policy documents are appropriately maintained.
- Analyse and consider the broader context to develop practical solutions that influence policy management and currency rates, and to improve policy application and reviews.
- Oversight, audit and report on policy management to deliver assurance that the organisation is effectively managing policy compliance issues and risks.
- Provide advice and input to policy development, and lifecycle management of policy documents for Governance and the wider organisation as required.
- Coordinate and chair governance networks to drive the attainment of strategic accountabilities for key activities in accordance with associated Terms of Reference.
Compliance
- Support management of the UnitingCare Enterprise Compliance Management Framework.
- Assist with reviews, and critical assessment of legislative and regulatory amendments to communicate relevant regulatory alerts across the organisation.
Privacy and Information Management
- Assist with development and management of privacy and information management systems.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures and processes for effective privacy and privacy incident management.
- Assist with the development and delivery of training material in accessible formats, to build awareness of privacy information management within business units and services.
Systems
- Identify innovative ways to utilise technology (e.g. PolicyStat, LawOne, Intranet, SharePoint) to achieve business strategies that include reporting capability, efficiencies, accessibility and awareness of Governance services.

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing and implementing enterprise frameworks and policies and understanding their relevance to an operational context.
- Sound knowledge and experience applying risk management principles to framework and policy development.
- High level ability to provide operational recommendations and advice on policy management matters.
- Sound ability to analyse data to provide information and intelligence on policy and compliance trends and advice on possible business impacts.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and influence across all levels.
- High level ability to communicate key messages and negotiate outcomes, including via written reports and presenting to groups.
