About the Role
The Principal Architect role at AGL is pivotal, leading the Electrification & Innovation (E&I) architecture workstream for transformation programs. This role shapes AGL's Retail Transformation and E&I architecture, focusing on innovation, scalability, and efficiency. Ideal candidates have 10+ years of technology and architecture leadership experience, with a focus on the Energy & Utilities industry. They should have proven experience in large transformation programs and domain knowledge in areas like supply chain, field services, DERMS, VPP, and energy trading. Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills are essential.
What you’ll be doing
Develop and maintain architecture strategy and roadmap for E&I, aligning with business objectives.
Lead design and implementation of solutions for DERMS, energy management, VPP, etc.
Evaluate and select third-party vendors and solutions.
Ensure integrity and coherence of end-to-end architecture.
Design robust transition and target-state architecture solutions.
Drive transition of architecture solutions to future-state systems.
Conduct regular assessments and audits to enhance scalability and reliability.
Design and implement solutions to enhance customer and business user experience.
Provide architecture leadership to application decommissioning and platform engineering teams.
Establish and enforce architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
About You
10+ years of tech and architecture leadership.
Proven Enterprise Architect in Energy & Utilities.
Hands-on in large transformations, and roadmap implementation.
Rich domain knowledge in the supply chain, field services, DERMS, VPP, energy trading, etc.
Leads workshops aligning solutions to business goals.
Drives business transformation through thought leadership.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and business acumen.
We also value people who demonstrate:
Experience with SaaS/cloud technologies, such as Salesforce, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
Certifications in utility products, and cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
Working in Agile delivery, Scrum, Lean, SAFe
Knowledge of Energy/Utilities and Telco industry and products Commercial acumen
