It's a deeper purpose that we can all be proud of.About the OpportunityReporting to the Life of Type Extension Engineering Manager, the Principal Configuration Officer will provide configuration management and technical leadership to the organisation.Through a developed understanding of the In Service Support Contract (ISSC) Configuration Management function, you will be responsible for working under minimal supervision to implement Life of Type Extension (LOTE) configuration management activities including configuration management planning, configuration item management and developing and managing LOTE change processes.This role is Permanent full time, based in Osborne SA.Responsibilities
- Implement the LOTE project configuration management activities and associated outputs
- Support development, integration and maintenance of the configuration management tools in support of LOTE and ISSC configuration management activities
- Ensure all LOTE subcontractors comply with their configuration management plan requirements
- Support planning estimates for LOTE configuration management activities and delivering of LOTE configuration management training
- Manage a team of configuration management staff
- Formal training in configuration management such as Certified International Configuration Manager by International Society of Configuration, or CMII
- Minimum of ten (10) years prior relevant experience
- Requires understanding of management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritising, coaching and process execution
- Requires advanced knowledge of configuration management techniques, particularly in a defence environment with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organisation.
- Experience with configuration management standards such as EIA-649
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and general technology proficiency
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and customer
