The team delivers infrastructure technology change and transition and transformation initiatives for mainframe across the CBA Group. The CBA Group mainframes are the beating heart of the CBA Group technology stack and require professional, risk aware support of the highest standard.We are currently looking for a Principal Engineer Mainframe. Reporting to Executive Manager Mainframe Services you will be a member of the Mainframe Systems Engineering team and a most senior point of technical reference in the team for both internal and external stakeholders.Do work that mattersWe are looking for a highly experienced mainframe professional with energy, drive and a desire to lead a team of mainframe SMEs to deliver a world-class mainframe service. In this role, you will:Provide technical and thought leadership for a team of mainframe specialist engineersSupport the CBA and Bankwest mainframe infrastructure and software.Drive and influence key strategic initiatives for the Mainframe Platform in line with our business strategy.Architect and Design Mainframe Solutions that meet our enterprise standard for Risk, Security, Resiliency and Availability.Identify opportunities to automate, simplify and modernise the Mainframe Platform to reduce cost and complexity.Constantly reinventing yourself by extending your expertise across open-source technology on the Mainframe such as zLinux, Ansible, Python, Git and Zowe.Guide, mentor and train the next generation of Mainframe specialists.Measuring systems performance and working iteratively to identify key metrics to guide improvement.Diagnose of operational incidents, performing root cause analysis, and working to make engineering change to resolve problems.We’re interested in hearing from people who have experience in:Mainframe infrastructure (System Programming)Mainframe subsystems and tools including but not limited to VTAM, TCP/IP, CICS, WMQ, TSO, ISPF, SMP/E ISV products, languages.Technical Leadershipz/Series hardware and z/OSMainframe configurationMainframe peripherals including storage, SAN, and VTL.Mainframe networkingSystem Performance and OptimisationGDPS and SYSPLEX architecture and designIf this sounds like a role for you – apply today!If you're already part of the Commonwealth Bank Group (including Bankwest, x15ventures), you'll need to apply through to submit a valid application.
